Woodland

Truly where I find peace. Hours can pass like minutes moving between the trees. Forms and colour find me without effort. When I listen, I hear the woodland telling where to go, where to stop, where to notice. The ever-changing seasons take a once-familiar place and transform it into a breath-taking scene - fleeting; once captured, never to be repeated.

Not all of natures beauty is tucked away inside the trees. Always carrying a camera is a non-negotiable for me (my children poke fun at me for this!). Every journey is a chance to make a connection with the landscape I am temporarily part of.

Abstract

Nature, by definition, is paradoxically both ordered and abstract. Finding and combining forms, textures and colours can reveal beauty that would be otherwise hidden. Through a combination of intentional camera movement (ICM) and multiple exposures I find myself deeply engaged with the natural forms around me beyond their obvious allure.
